‎Cabinet approves dividing tariffs for electricity-intensive institutions into 2 classes

The Saudi Cabinet authorized dividing tariffs for electricity-intensive institutions into two classes, the official gazette reported on Oct. 1.

The first class contains the sectors by which the ratio of electrical energy prices to working prices, excluding uncooked supplies, is 20% or extra.

The second class contains the sectors by which the ratio of electrical energy prices to working prices, excluding uncooked supplies, ranges between 10% and 19.9%.

This tariff doesn’t embrace the next sectors: authorities, residential, charitable, cooperative establishments and societies, personal well being and academic services.

The tariff for the heavy consumption of electrical energy for the abovementioned classes doesn’t embrace value-added tax (VAT), as follows:
